You are invited to attend and participate in the oral doctoral examination of Angie Mejia, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, which will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 1 p.m. in 402 Maxwell Hall.

Mejia’s advisor is Professor Jackie Orr. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Marjorie DeVault, Cecilia Green, Chandra Mohanty and Johanna Brenner. Professor Pedro DiPietro will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Las Lloronas: Mujeres, Depression, and the Sociological Imagination.”
