You are invited to attend and participate in the oral doctoral examination of Derek Davis, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, which will be held on Monday, June 24, at 2 p.m. in 202 Physics Building.

Davis’s advisor is Professor Peter Saulson. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Stefan Ballmer, Joseph Paulsen, Mitchell Soderberg and Walter Freeman. Professor Peter Wilcoxen will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Detector Characterization for Advanced LIGO.”
