The Posse Scholars’ Celebration is a graduation ceremony recognizing Syracuse University’s graduating Posse Scholars. This year’s scholars are from Atlanta and Miami. The celebration includes a stole presentation ceremony and remarks from mentors, scholars and Posse Foundation staff.
A reception in the same location immediately follows the ceremony.
The Posse Foundation is a national nonprofit that finds and recruits high school students with high academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by the traditional college selection process. Students are selected in groups of 10 to attend top universities across the country and are provided with training, mentorship and support to succeed, including a full-tuition scholarship. The Posse Foundation has three goals: (1) expand the ways colleges and universities can recruit young, diverse leaders, (2) help colleges and universities build a more interactive campus environment that fosters inclusivity, and (3) ensure the academic success of Posse Scholars so they can become leaders in the workforce.
