You are invited to attend and participate in the oral doctoral examination of Richard McDonough, a College of Arts and Sciences candidate for the Ph.D. degree, which will be held on Thursday, May 30, at 3 p.m. in 1-019 Center for Science and Technology.

McDonough’s advisor is Professor Joseph Chaiken. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Timothy Korter, Robert Doyle, James Hougland and Jon Zubieta. Professor Pranav Soman will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Towards Real-Time Monitoring of Bacterial Cultures Without the Need for Physical Sampling: Elastic Scattering, Fluorescence and Raman Spectroscopy of Escherichia Coli Cultures.”
