Celebrate first-generation success on campus and provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to network and share their college experience! First-generation is often referred to people that might be the first in their family to attend college or their parents, supporters, or legal guardian did not receive a college degree.
Desserts, light refreshments and small give-a-ways will be available.
Campuses across the country are hosting first-generation events on Nov. 8, the national day to celebrate first-generation students. In 2017, the Council of Opportunity in Education (COE) and the Center for First-Generation Student Success launched the inaugural First-Generation College Celebration, and FYTP is excited to celebrate our First-Generation students, faculty and staff as we bring this tradition to our Orange community!
