Gabrielle Calvocoressi is the author of The Last Time I Saw Amelia EarhartApocalyptic Swing (a finalist for the LA Times Book Prize), and Rocket Fantastic, winner of the Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry. The recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, Calvocoressi’s poems have been published or are forthcoming in numerous magazines and journals including The BafflerThe New York TimesPOETRYBoston ReviewKenyon ReviewTin House, and The New Yorker. She is an Editor at Large at Los Angeles Review of Books, and Poetry Editor at Southern Cultures and teaches at UNC Chapel Hill.

The Raymond Carver Reading Series features twelve to fourteen prominent writers yearly as part of a large undergraduate class taught by TAs from the Creative Writing Program. All readings  are preceded by a question and answer session from 3:45-4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

The readings have been recorded and are in the process of being made available online by Bird Library at SUrface.
