The oral doctoral examination of Yanira Rodríguez, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Wednesday, April 1, at 1 p.m.
Rodriguez’s advisors are Professor Gwendolyn Pough and Aja Martínez. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Genevieve García de Mueller, Carmen Kynard and Chandra Mohanty. Professor Marcelle Haddix will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Cultivating an Ethos of Refusal: What it Takes to (Un)Teach a Student Like Me.”
