Girls’ Summit is a hands-on S.T.E.A.M.-based career exploration day that introduces girls in grades 5-10 to “non-traditional” fields through a series of workshops lead by participants in those fields. The program aims to empower girls with the confidence, knowledge, and role models essential for making educational and life decisions consistent with personal goals of economic independence, self-sufficiency, and equality, and is an annual collaboration of the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County; ESF’s Women’s Caucus, Office of Experiential Learning & Outreach (OELO), Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (OIDE), and Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP); and Syracuse University’s Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP).
