The Department of Earth Sciences presents the last K.D. Nelson Lecture Series of the Spring 2020 semester, featuring guest speaker, Kennet Flores, from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.

Kennet is a geologist specializing in plate tectonics and geodynamics of subduction zones. He is a self-proclaimed field regional geologist who applies various techniques, including structural geology, geochemistry, metamorphic petrology, geochronology and sedimentology, to develop geodynamic scenarios and plate tectonic models. His other foci are the evolution and modeling of the plate tectonics of convergent margins and the exhumation of HP/LT mélanges and belts around the world.
