As teaching assistants, we all want our students to succeed and perform well. We also need to make the processes of grading and providing feedback as simple and brief as possible. Employing techniques in teaching that make transparent the why and the how of student performance gives every student the chance to perform well. These techniques also reduce grading challenges by allowing students to evaluate their own work in a manner similar to that of the professor and/or TA. Come join Eve Humphrey, (of Dissertation Baby fame) for this lively and informative discussion about practical techniques and creating a more inclusive and successful classroom.
Lunch will be provided courtesy of the GSO
