Hae Yeon Choo, an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Toronto, will hold an open conversation with graduate students about navigating academia as a woman of color, as a feminist, or as someone who experiences marginalization in academia. Her conversation will center on the following question: How do we navigate and claim our space within academia, while doing the work that is meaningful to us? To answer this question, she will address topics such as conducting ethnographic fieldwork, writing dissertation chapters and publications, preparing for the job market, and transitioning into a junior faculty position. Sponsored by Sociology FPP.
