How to Use Facebook as a Journalist

Newhouse students, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the tools available on Facebook, including Live, Groups, Video, Insights and Safety features.
The training is offered through a partnership between the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Facebook Journalism Project to provide tips on how journalists can share their work and better engage the public. The training has been offered to journalists at national conferences, workshops and newsrooms around the country.
Hilary Niles, an independent multimedia and data journalist with roots in community radio, will lead the training. Niles earned a master’s degree at the Missouri School of Journalism, has produced stories for NPR and the BBC and currently chairs SPJ’s Freelance Community Committee and serves on its Freedom of Information Committee.
The session is hosted by the South Side Newspaper Project, publisher of The Stand.
