The University has begun a phased reopening of its research laboratories. Every faculty member should develop a lab management plan to account for social distancing, personal hygiene protocols, and reduced capacity. However, developing such a plan from scratch can be a dizzying and time-consuming effort. Also, what sounds good on paper may not work well in practice.

Several colleagues at SUNY Upstate, which restarted limited on-campus research the week of May 18, have kindly offered to share tidbits from their plans and their lab reopening experiences with the BioInspired community. These Upstate faculty will participate in a virtual panel discussion to share their thoughts on what has worked, what hasn’t, and challenges facing them and their labs during the reopening.

To attend, please RSVP via email to Additionally, please submit questions for the panelists beforehand; live questions will also be address, time permitting.
