Press Relations: Protections, Perils and Emerging Democracy
The Tully Center for Free Speech and the Society of Professional Journalists is hosting John F. Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, for a lunch and discussion focused on press relations, protections, perils and emerging democracy.
John F. Sopko was sworn in as the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction in 2012, and he has more than 30 years of experience in oversight and investigations as a prosecutor, congressional counsel and senior federal government advisor. As the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, Sopko has directed funds to build the Afghan National Security Forces, promote good governance, conduct development assistance and engage in counter-narcotics and anti-corruption efforts.
