The Department of Art and Music Histories presents a lecture with professor Sascha Scott.

This talk explores the ways in which Georgia O’Keeffe’s seemingly apolitical paintings of Hawai‘i (1939) participate in the highly racialized project of colonialism, and how contemporary scholarship about O’Keeffe unwittingly contributes to the ongoing disenfranchisement of Indigenous peoples.

This event was published on February 21, 2020.
