Class Description

Light Work welcomes prolific Amsterdam-based photobook designer Hans Gremmen on Saturday, May 30, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. EST. Hans will be giving a short lecture and then making himself available for your questions on photobook editing, sequencing and designing. Gremmen will discuss his passion for the medium, the photobook tradition and the contemporary photobook scene. A respected and innovative designer, his affinity for spontaneity and experimentation, yield award-winning cutting-edge objects. Join the conversation, Zoom participants are invited to post responses to open a dialogue.

Meet your instructor

Hans Gremmen is a graphic designer, and founder of publishing house Fw:Books. He works in the field of photography, architecture and fine arts for clients such as Office for Contemporary Art, Norway, Aperture Foundation, Roma Publications, Darat al Funun, and TUDelft. He has designed over 300 books, and won various awards for his experimental designs. Among them a Golden Medal in the Best Book Design from all over the World competition.
