A new display on the 4th floor of Bird Library, featuring books from the general stacks of Syracuse University Libraries. The display includes notable women from antiquity to the present who made their names by going from one place to another, or to many places, for a wide variety of reasons—often enduring hardships, and sometimes risking life and limb. Sacagawea, Harriet Tubman, Nellie Bly, and Amelia Earhart are some of the better known women represented. Women Travelers and Explorers will remain up through February of 2021.
This exhibit was curated by Elizabeth Scott, Stephen Singer, and Edward Gokey.
