Interested in improving your cyber security skills? You are invited to participate in the CNY Hackathon, November 6 and 7, and defend your network from hackers!
CNY Hackathon is a cybersecurity competition in which you will be randomly placed in teams to defend your network from hackers. You will have servers that you need to keep up, and the hackers will do their best to take them down. There will also be cybersecurity related challenges in topics such as password cracking and scripting. Teams will be formed based on prior experience and skill level, so beginners will be partnered with veterans to be given an opportunity to grow.
This competition, as well as the InfoSec Club at the iSchool, is perfect for those that have an interest in cybersecurity and want to improve/exercise their skills.
Register for CNY Hackathon here and fill out our headcount form so we may know who is attending.
Come by our club on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. to learn what to expect and some best practices for the competition. You can attend via Zoom using the link on our website, or you can come by our room in 011 Hinds (there is a 12-person limit, so not everyone may be able to get in the room). The sooner you come, the better the chance you have! We hope to meet new aspiring hackers next week!
