Tune into a show produced by CNY Jazz Central exclusively for Syracuse University students, faculty and staff! This week the featured artist is Quatro. Access the exclusive YouTube concert here. The show will remain available until Sunday, Nov. 29.

Quatro is a distinctly American group consisting of leader Chuck Schiele on guitar and vocals, George Newton on pedal steel and vocals, Heather Kubacki on cello and vocals, and John Dancks on double bass. They play original songs and compositions that result in a sound that exists somewhere between the deserts of New Mexico and the rings of Saturn. The group new group is the latest creation of Schiele, who has led a bi-coastal music existence for decades, shuttling between Central New York and San Diego.

Schiele’s group “Gandhi Method” received a nomination for “Best Americana” in the 2003 San Diego Music Awards. In 2009 his “Bad Science Fiction” project released its debut album, “Therefore,” which also went on to receive the nomination for “Best New Rock Artist” at the San Diego Awards.

Currently Chuck works locally with Salt City Chill and continues to play in the SkinnyDippers and Bad Science Fiction in San Diego. He is most proud of his Quatro project, and knows it will transport you anywhere you wish.
