In-person events are open to all Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students\, faculty\, staff\, and alumni. \nSled Hockey is an adaptive form of hockey in which players are seated in specially designed sleds that sit atop two hockey skate blades. Players hold 2 sticks that allow them to play the puck with either hand. The sticks have metal pics on the ends that allow players to propel themselves. Fo players who lack the upperbody strength or coordination to propel themselves can use a helper\, also known as a pusher\, to move them around the ice. \nUS National Sled Hockey team member Colin Gooley and coaches from the SU Skating School will be on hand to provide guidance and instruction. Sleds\, sticks\, and helmets are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves (winter\, hockey\, lacrosse\, etc). \nParking\nAccessible parking is available at the rear entrance of the Pavilion. All others should park in the visitor lot next to the upper tennis courts. To request accommodations\, please contact Aaron Landers. \nGuests/Assistants\nIceAbility participants who require extra assistance are permitted to bring one (1) guest or assistant. Registration is required. Guests must be at least 18 years old\, must wear a mask at all times\, and must stay in the socially distant when not providing assistance.
