Michael K. Atkinson is a Syracuse University alum and was the U. S. Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, who was dismissed by President Trump in April 2020. In September 2019, he alerted Congress to a whistleblower complaint regarding the president’s communications with Ukraine, pressing for an investigation into Joe Biden and his son – the resulting scandal led to President Trump’s impeachment.
