CNY Jazz Virtual Concert Series: Mark Nanni and The Intention

Tune into a show produced by CNY Jazz Central exclusively for Syracuse University students, faculty and staff! This week the featured artist is Mark Nanni and The Intention. The Intention began as the Mark Nanni Trio in 1996 as a vehicle for original compositions. Since then, with the change in identity to The Intention, a radical expansion in genre developed. Now working in an extremely conversational, interactive improvisational way, they now stretch into Jam/Classic Rock, soul, and roots music of all kinds. Regardless of the style, their collective improvisational process remains as the common thread.

Mark Nanni has been working from Central New York for 25 years as keyboardist for many bands, playing piano, organ and accordion; live and in the studio. He is a multi-SAMMY’s, (Syracuse Area Music Awards) winner, several with the band Los Blancos. Mark continues to play more than 250 shows per year.
