How does it impact the way in which you deal with conflict? Understanding the various conflict styles can help bridge understanding in how you and others react to conflict. Also learn a powerful tool that can help deal with emotions associated with interpersonal conflict- reflective listening. Reflective Listening helps address these high emotions in order to allow ‘room’ to address the conflict. Add these two ‘tools’ to your conflict management toolbox in an interactive\, participatory workshop format. \n1 p.m.-3 p.m.: Train the Trainer: First Year Forum.  This session will train interested volunteers who attended the morning session to become CMC Associates and prepare them for leading future training sessions throughout the academic year\, including SU’s First Year Forum (FYF).  We will cover everything you need to know in order to be a successful trainer using our CMC developed curriculum. \nEach CMC workshop provides theory-based content and practice-proven skills\, providing participants with both a foundation and a springboard for building his or her personal and professional capacities in conflict transformation and group facilitation. \nFor more information or to register\, email cmc@maxwell.syr.edu.  Sponsored by PARCC.par URL:https://calendar.syracuse.edu/events/2020-sep-12/basic-training-and-train-the-trainer-workshops/ LOCATION:Falk Complex 150 Crouse Dr.\, Syracuse\, NY\, 13244\, United States CATEGORIES:Social Science and Public Policy END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
