How can mindfulness help us become more compassionate and effective advocates for social justice? The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences presents, Mindful Leadership for Social Justice featuring Beth Berila Ph.D., an alumna of Syracuse University’s English and Women’s and Gender Studies departments. In this interactive session, we will learn some mindfulness practices to help us stay grounded in our values as we work for social justice.
Beth is currently the Director of the Gender & Women’s Studies Program and Professor in the Ethnic, Gender & Women’s Studies Department at St. Cloud State University. She is also an Embodied Leadership Coach and Facilitator who blends somatics, mindfulness, and transformational leadership approaches. Her most recent book, Radiating Feminism: Resilience Practices to Transform Our Inner & Outer Lives (Routledge, 2020), supports social justice leaders in their change-making journeys.
