Authors: Wolfgang Keller and Hâle Utar 

Facing the same labor demand shock through imports from China, we show that men and women make different labor market and family adjustments that result in significant long-run gender inequality.

Hale Utar

Grinnell College

Hâle Utar holds the Sidney Meyer endowed chair at Grinnell College. She specializes in international trade and her work has been published in top economics journals such as the Review of Economics & Statistics, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, the International Economic Review and the Journal of Development Economics. She holds a PhD from the Pennsylvania State University.
