“Different sides, same team: Lessons from working at agencies and brands”
Nick Fell grew up in different countries all over the world and dreamt of building new inventions from an early age so it makes some sense that he now finds himself leading International Marketing for Facebook Reality Labs, a group of people focused on building the future of connection within virtual and augmented reality.
Based in London, Fell’s team is responsible for marketing the “Oculus VR” and “Portal from Facebook” products and brands in Europe and Japan. Fell originally joined Facebook in California to lead marketing for Building 8, a new team focused on building new products in service of the company’s mission. He co-invented and launched “Portal from Facebook”, a line of smart video calling devices and Facebook’s first homegrown consumer hardware.
Prior to joining Facebook, Fell led marketing strategy at Apple where he worked on the launch of iPhone 6, developed campaigns promoting the company’s approach to accessibility in technology and reinvented the Apple Retail experience. While at Apple, Fell co-developed the strategy for “Today at Apple”, a global events program designed to help customers and communities realize their potential with Apple products. “Today at Apple” won a Grand Prix and Titanium Lion at the 2018 Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
