The oral doctoral examination of Shannon Schantz, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Tuesday, August 17, at 11 a.m. in Zoom.

Schantz’s advisor is Professor Dawn R. Johnson. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Qiu Wang, Julie Hasenwinkel, Mario Rios Perez and Kal Alston. Professor Andria Costello Staniec will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “The Impact of the Classroom Climate in Introductory Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Courses on the Persistence Desires and Academic Outcomes of White Women and Women of Color in Engineering.”
