Dissertation Defense: Aja Lans

You are invited to attend and participate in the oral doctoral examination of Aja Lans, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, which will be held on Wednesday, August 18, at 11 a.m. in 205A Maxwell Hall.

Lans’s advisor is Professor Shannon Novak. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Theresa Singleton, Douglas Armstrong, Carol Faulkner and Rachel Watkins. Professor Tessa Murphy will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Negro: Embodied Experiences of Inequality in Historic New York City.”
