This event has already occurred. The information may no longer be valid.

Scientific posters and in-person poster sessions are a fundamentally different medium than other types of scientific communication. In this workshop, we will discuss the philosophy of posters, including similarities and differences between them and other communication media in the sciences. We will also discuss design best practices and strategies to help you create visually appealing and scientifically compelling posters. Finally, we will discuss how to prepare for presenting your poster, and we will touch on practical issues like printing. The workshop will include several hands-on activities and be facilitated by Professor Joey Paulsen (Physics) and Dr. Jeremy Steinbacher (BioInspired). We will offer virtual participation in addition to in-person.

Note: please come prepared to share one of your own posters for a workshop activity (electronic file via screen share).

This workshop is part of the BioInspired Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Professional Development Program and counts toward the completion of the Graphic Design badge. Read more about the program here.
