People often refer to sports, particularly football, as the new American religion. Being a fan, for many of us, is a defining part of who we are. Professor Osborne will discuss sports fandom and how it goes well beyond mere entertainment; it’s about community, escape and catharsis. Wear your favorite team’s apparel! (Spoiler alert: Professor Osborne was born and raised in Steeler nation, so you know which team she’ll be representing!)
