This year’s event will feature headliner Eric Roberson, opening performance by J Shai and music by DJ Maestro. The night will be hosted by Cedric T. Bolton, Office of Multicultural Affairs coordinator of student engagement.
During the evening the Office of Multicultural Affairs will present the annual Trailblazer Award and Distinguished Alumni Excellence Award to Syeisha M. Byrd ’12, Hendricks Chapel’s director of the Office of Engagement Programs, and Karen Davis ’83 ’90, assistant dean for inclusive excellence at the College of Engineering and Computer Science, respectively. The Trailblazer Award honors a campus community member who has made a positive impact on the Syracuse University community. The Distinguished Alumni Excellence Award honors an alumnus who has made a difference for students through their leadership, engagement and service.
Sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Black Graduate Student Association, Department of African American Studies, Office of Academic Affairs, Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), Barnes Center at the Arch Recreation, Student African American Society, Department of Women and Gender Studies, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Black History Month Committee.
