The city of Syracuse has engaged in numerous economic development initiatives historically and recently is one of three cities to be selected by Microsoft as a “Smart Cities Technology” hub.  Join this session with Yusuf Abdul-Qadir senior strategist for racial justice at New York Civil Liberties Union, Yahkeef Davis data scientist and Marist College junior, Lee McKnight associate professor of Information Studies, Sharon Owens deputy mayor of the city of Syracuse, and Laiza Semidey Syracuse Surge Workforce Manager at CenterState CEO to understand how this economic opportunity can have a positive impact on BIPOC and change the course of history for the city.
