This event is part of the Racial Equity Academic Symposium which is presented by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Division of Faculty Affairs in the Office of Academic Affairs:

There is much discussion today regarding systemic structures and practices that make racial equity challenging.  In this session, Diversity and Inclusion Director in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion LaShan Lovelace will moderate the discussion while Syracuse University Libraries director of Special Collections Research Center Petrina Jackson and Vanja Malloy, director and chief curator of the Syracuse University Art Museum share the actions they are taking to bring equity to the libraries’ university archives and the museum’s art collection respectively.

Join this discussion to learn why higher education archives and art collections historically lack diversity and to understand the efforts our campus library and museum are taking to bring equity to their collections.
