We will also be hosting a discussion session about the film during the first EID journal club of the semester on Friday\, January 29th from 4 to 5 p.m. Emails will be collected for those interested and screening information will be sent beforehand. Please register here. \nIndividuals may also screen the film on their own time between Wednesday\, January 27 at 3 p.m. EST and Friday\, January 29 at 4 p.m. EST. Instructions for accessing the film will be provided to registrants by Tuesday\, January 26. \nAbout the Film: “Picture a Scientist” chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins\, chemist Raychelle Burks\, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences\, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way\, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations\, we encounter scientific luminaries – including social scientists\, neuroscientists\, and psychologists – who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse\, equitable\, and open to all. \n  URL:https://calendar.syracuse.edu/events/2021-jan-28/film-screening-picture-a-scientist/ LOCATION:Virtual (see event details) 150 Crouse Dr.\, Syracuse\, NY\, 13244\, United States CATEGORIES:Science and Mathematics ORGANIZER;CN="CAS-Department of Physics":MAILTO:phyadmin@syr.edu END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
