The oral doctoral examination of Abel Gomez, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Friday, June 4, at 11 a.m. in Zoom.

Gomez’s advisor is Professor Philip P. Arnold. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Joanne Punzo Waghorne, Danika Medak-Saltzman, Jeanette S. Jouili and Natalie Avalos. Professor Chandra Talpade Mohanty will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Sacred Sites, Ceremony, and Belonging in Ohlone Territory: A Case Study of Indigenous Survival.”
