GaySL: A Crash Course in LGBTQ+ American Sign Language and Intersectionality
March 13, 2021 at 3:00pm – 4:00pm EST
Virtual (See event details)

This workshop teaches its participants LGBTQ-related American Sign Language (ASL) signs while fostering a group discussion about deaf culture, intersectionality, accessibility and more.
Participants will be encouraged to sign along as we learn the signs for many common LGBTQ+ terms. The goal for this workshop is not to teach fluency in ASL, but rather to help kickstart intentional thinking about deafness, disability, and the struggles faced by LGBTQ people who are also deaf or disabled.
We hope to inspire folks to create spaces more accessible for LGBTQ individuals with disabilities and be more inclusive of all folks under our rainbow umbrella.
