Every year, the Newhouse School honors journalists with the Toner Prizes for Excellence in Political Reporting. Join us for a discussion with the 2021 winners: David A. Graham of The Atlantic and Steve Novak and Sara K. Satullo of LehighValleyLive.com.
Ghael Fobes ’22 and Adriana Rozas Rivera G’21 will moderate the discussion.
2021 Toner Prize for Excellence in National Political Reporting
David A. Graham
Graham is a staff writer at The Atlantic covering national politics and elections. He won for his coverage of the 2020 presidential election, with reporting focused particularly on undecided voters in swing states and election integrity.
2021 Toner Prize for Excellence in Local Political Reporting
Steve Novak and Sara K. Satullo
Satullo, local government and data reporter, and Novak, general assignment reporter, were part of a four-person team from LehighValleyLive.com that won for “Swing County, Swing State.” The collaborative project sought to distill the political complexities of Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and outline the importance of local voters to national elections.
