Are you a scientist? Think your job is pretty weird? Tell us all about it!! Science Riot and the Graduate School are partnering to offer a professional development workshop in science communication. This intensive webinar will cover essential principles of comedic writing and presentation that apply to science communication across any platform, including public speaking, podcasting, and other media. Participants learn how to utilize comedy theory as a versatile communication tool to introduce their professional work, find relatable perspectives and attitudes to frame a public dialogue, and make scientific topics accessible and enjoyable for a layperson audience.

Science Riot is the nation’s premier, immersive science-communication training program. We’ve trained hundreds of STEM professionals from coast to coast in the art and science of using comedy to build bridges. Our graduates learn to use the tools of humor and connection, and then apply them to complex or difficult subject matter. Our workshops are fast-paced, interactive, and guaranteed to be the most fun you’ve ever had talking about science!

Participation in the webinar partially satisfies requirements for the Graduate School’s Digital Badge in Research Communication.
