As part of a CNY Humanities Corridor “Humanities Beyond the Academy” working group mini-residency, Leonard Cassuto, author of The Graduate School Mess: What Caused It and How We Can Fix It and (with Robert Weisbuch) The New PhD: How to Build a Better Graduate Education, offers a workshop specifically for graduate students in the humanities, helping those who want to see and advocate for change within their own departments go about this successfully. The workshop aims to give attendees a toolbox for practical change, indicating how they can achieve consensus on goals, garner support, and turn talk into action—letting graduate students themselves serve as key agents of change. 5 copies of The New PhD will be given away by raffle to attendees.
