Red Cross Blood Drive

The American Red Cross Club at SU and the Center for Policy Research will host a blood drive on Wednesday, September 15 from 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. in 500 HL. They will also host a drive on Thursday, September 16 from 12:00p.m.-6:00p.m. in 304ABC Schine Student Center.
The Red Cross is concerned that the rise in COVID-19 cases due to the delta variant and a potentially active hurricane and wildfire season may further challenge the ability to collect and meet hospital demand. In recent weeks, they have seen blood donor turnout decline by nearly 10% while hospital demand for blood products continues to outpace donations. This decline in donors is believed to be due to the continued effects of the pandemic on blood drive cancellations and donor availability as well as back-to-school preparations for many families. Those who come to give at Syracuse University this week will receive a limited-edition college football-themed T-shirt, while supplies last and a coupon for a free haircut coupon by email from Sport Clips Haircuts.
