Join Brie Baumert (G’22) in a hands-on workshop about social media as information sources. Social media has become an increasingly important way that many people find, consume, and share information. In this workshop, we’ll talk about social media literacy, information privilege, hashtag activism, source credibility, and misinformation in the media. We’ll also share ways that we get news from social media, whether that be TikTok or Instagram or YouTube, and how to advocate for these types of sources as valid while also learning how to tell when sources are not.
