Come watch SU’s top grad student research communicators square off in the finals of the 8th annual Three-Minute Thesis competition. Contestants from research programs all around campus have 180 seconds to convey the nature, significance, and inherent interest of their research to non-specialists, using only one static projected image (i.e., slide). A multidisciplinary panel of judges determines the winner, while the audience awards the “People’s Choice.” The finalists are:
- Adam Cucchiara, Public Administration and International Affairs
- Raj De, Physics
- Supreetha Guntur, Architecture
- Onkar Joshi, Architecture
- Seth Knievel, Communication and Rhetorical Studies
- Jian Shi, Mass Communications
- Caitlin Smith, Human Development and Family Science
- Noah Wason, Composition and Cultural Rhetoric
- Jason Webb, Teaching & Leadership
This year’s winner will have an opportunity to represent Syracuse University in the National Association of Graduate Schools’ 3MT competition and the all-ACC showdown of 3MT champions. Refreshments provided.
