The oral doctoral examination of Jian Shi, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, which will be held on Tuesday, April 12, at 9 a.m. in Zoom.
Shi’s advisor is Professor Lars Willnat. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Carol M. Liebler, Qiu Wang, Greg Munno and Leonard Scott Newman. Professor Bei Yu will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Media and Modern Racism: Understanding Anti-Asian Attitudes and Behaviors During the Covid-19 Pandemic.”
