The School of Art’s Summer Academy will present visiting artist Jacob Riddle.

Riddle is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and curator whose work deals with ideas surrounding labor, class, automation, value, capital, physicality, virtuality, and the natural world. Riddle has exhibited his work and been an artist in residence nationally and internationally, including at Flaggfabrikken, Bergen, Norway; Arteles, Haukijärvi, Finland; Rodbianco, Oslo, Norway; École Supérieure d’Art d’Avignon, Avignon, France; Tele Vision, Sydney Australia; Dom Funkcjonalny, Warsaw, Poland; Transcoding, Société, Brussels, Belgium, Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Riddle’s work is held in the collections of the Rhizome Art Base at the New Museum and PAMAL at École Supérieure d’Art d’Avignon.

The lecture is in person, with a virtual option on Zoom.

School of Art Summer Academy 

Each summer, the School of Art in the College of Visual and Performing Arts offers a Portfolio Development Summer Academy for High School Students as part of the University’s Summer College Program. In addition to showing students how to prepare a portfolio for applying to colleges and art schools, the Summer Academy provides an immersive studio experience in painting, printmaking, digital sculpture, comics and graphic novels. Supplemented by field trips to area museums and artists’ studios, the Summer Academy provides an on-campus college experience.
