The oral doctoral examination of Catherine LaVoy, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Wednesday, August 24, at 2 p.m. in Zoom.
LaVoy’s advisor is Professor Theresa Ann Singleton. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Shannon Novak, Douglas Armstrong, John Townsend and Scott J. Allen. Professor Susan Branson will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Freyre’s Plantation Playground: The Changing Landscape of the Sugar Plantation Monjope.”
