Alumni Panel: Where Can CRS Take You?

A multimedia journalist, an employment/labor law attorney, and a communications officer for the largest charitable nonprofit in Central New York, will form a panel to share with incoming freshman how the Department of Communications and Rhetorical Studies prepared them for their careers.
The visiting panelists are:
- Nicki Mayo, CRS ’01, a multimedia journalist/freelance producer in the Baltimore/DC area, Mayo’s reporting has been featured on TV One, National Public Radio, Westwood One Radio, the Philadelphia Tribune and the Associated Press. She previously worked as a reporter and news anchor for WJHL in Tennessee and YNN in Buffalo. Mayo recently served a second term as president of the Baltimore Association of Black Journalists.
- Alexis Stanley, CRS ’07, is an associate at the Levy Ratner law firm specializing in workers’ and union rights. Stanley holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where she received the 2020 Gillis Long Poverty Law Center Public Service Award. Before joining Levy Ratner, Alexis clerked for the Orleans Public Defenders Office and served as a legal extern for the Women’s National Basketball Players Association.
- Juliet Maloff, CRS ’13, is a communications officer at Central New York Community Foundation. Established in 1927, the Community Foundation has distributed more than $250 million in support to CNY residents. Maloff recently served a term as president of the Public Relations Society of America.
