In honor of legendary author, professor, feminist, and social activist, the b hooks Biblio Club will bring bibliophiles and bibliophiles-in-the-making together to read, share, and indulge in bell hooks’ all about love. The influence of social media can drive a pursuit of materialism, pseudo friendships, and situationships leaving the idea of love, and the worthiness of its pursuit, fully in question.
Facilitated by a powerful trio that is sure to inspire diversity in experience and perspective that includes Vice President, Student Success and Deputy to the Senior Vice President Cerri Banks ’00, G’04, G’06, Director of the LGBTQ Resource Center Jorge Castillo, and Associate Athletics Director for Diversity, Culture and Climate Salatha Willis, this weekly discussion will take participants through hooks’ unique view on all things love.
Presented by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, 119 Euclid, the Division of Enrollment and Student Experience, the LGBTQ Resource Center, and Syracuse University Athletics as part of Black History Month. All registered participants will receive a copy of all about love. Space for this event is limited – register soon.
