Orange Dialogue involves a break-away weekend from Feb. 25-27 in the Adirondack mountains, designed to enhance the building of global relationships between international and domestic undergraduate students. The weekend will include experiential learning activities and small group discussions. Transportation, lodging and meals provided.
The program provides a venue where domestic and international undergraduate students acquire intercultural communication skills to establish mutual understanding and trust, and assist in the campus internationalization mission. Orange Dialogue is designed to provide a safe environment for students to explore individual thoughts about intergroup conflicts and to challenge collective memories of groups in conflict that shape mutual perceptions and influence the dynamics of interaction between these groups. The selected participants will work together in the context of fun, outdoor and indoor team building and adventure activities, and engage in analytical discussions of needs, concerns, fears and hopes of their present-day societies. The goal of the project is to help future leaders establish mutual understanding and trust and move towards discussing the areas of cooperation for sustainable world peace and friendship.
