When Your “Campus Interview” Is Online: Tips and Strategies for the Virtual Job Candidate

With the ongoing pandemic, many colleges and universities are now conducting not just their first-round interviews for faculty positions, but their final-round “campus” interviews, partly or entirely online – a trend likely to outlive the current public health crisis. Virtual interviews present numerous challenges, but also special opportunities for those candidates best able to prepare for them. In this workshop, Prof. Cheryl Narumi Naruse (English, Tulane University) will discuss different aspects of virtual campus visits: small meetings, job talks, and teaching demonstrations. We will also discuss some possible ways to prepare your home space for your visit.
