This workshop seeks to provide participants with an introduction to strategic planning, goal setting, and balancing between multiple priorities and commitments. Drawing on the models provided by the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity and incorporating techniques and tricks from a range of other sources, this workshop will focus on:

  • Developing a strategic plan for the semester and a detailed map for weekly progress toward those goals;
  • Sharing best practices for planning and goal setting;
  • Identifying resources for accountability and support;
  • Fostering a sense of community and collegiality among participants.

Organized by the Department of Geography’s Future Professoriate Program and led by Prof. Timur Hammond, this workshop is open to all graduate students.
